Do I need any prior martial arts experience to start training?
No, you don't need any prior martial arts experience to start training. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a great martial art for beginners.
Our 5pm class on Mondays is a great introductory class - we focus on basic concepts and beginner training.

Do I need to be in shape to start training?
No, you don't need to be in shape to start training. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a great way to get in shape, and many people start training specifically for that reason. However, it's always a good idea to check with your doctor before starting any new physical activity.

What should I wear to my first class?
Wear comfortable workout clothes like a t-shirt, compression top, and shorts or leggings. For your first class, we can loan you a Gi to wear. If you continue to train with a loaner gi, there is a $5 rental fee. Search Amazon for "BJJ Gi" and go by your measurements to find a good training gi to start with.
